Victims of the Khmer Rouges
Cambodia is full of contrasts and visiting the country takes me on a rollercoaster of emotions. After the magnificent Angkor temples, I am now in Phnom Penh, where I visited the vestiges of the Khmer Rouge regime that ruled the country from 1975 to 1979. Two million people died during these four years.
In the Tuong Sleng Prison, which is now a museum, thousands of pictures of people that the Khmer rouge arrested are displayed. Of the 14000 inmates of the prison, 21 survived. Gripping.
